Freshly picked summer green beans taste the best with freshly chopped garlic and a good sprinkle of herbs and seasonings. This side dish is easy to whip up and goes good with just about any main dish.
Ingredients
Pound of String Beans Yellow or Green
3 Cloves of Finely Chopped Garlic (or Three Teaspoons of Minced Garlic)
Teaspoon of Onion powder
Teaspoon of Parsley
1/4 Teaspoon of Salt
Sprinkle of Black Pepper
Two Tablespoons of Butter or Margarine
Three Tablespoons of Water
Instructions
1. Wash and cut the ends off the string beans and place them onto a large sheet of aluminum foil.
2. Sprinkle all the ingredients on top of the beans and quickly wrap them up in the aluminum foil creating a pouch. Don't forget to poke some tiny holes into the top of the foiled pouch so the beans can steam cook properly.
3. Place the pouch of beans onto a hot grill or in a 400-degree oven for about 30-minutes or until the beans are fork tender. To tell if the beans are fork tender just stick a fork through the top of the pouch. If the fork goes in with ease the beans are done. If the fork does not than you need to cook the beans a bit longer.
4. Once the beans are ready, serve them up warm with your favorite main dish.
