One of my favorite homemade holiday body scrubs to make is my gingerbread cookie body scrub. It is very simple to make and use, and does wonders when it comes to exfoliating dry skin from the body. Best of all, it is moisturizing and helps the skin glow with youthfulness.
Ingredients Necessary
The ingredients you will need to make my gingerbread cookie body scrub are:
- 1 tablespoon of ginger
- 1 tablespoon of cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon of allspice
- 1 tablespoon of nutmeg
- 2 cups of brown sugar
- 1 cup of white sugar
- ½ cup of honey
- 2 cups of olive oil or almond oil
You can find all of these ingredients in your local grocery store for under $25 if you do not have them in your kitchen. You will also need an empty jar with a lid, a mixing bowl, and spoon.
Creating the Scrub
The way you make my gingerbread cookie body scrub is by taking the ingredients and pouring them all into a mixing bowl. Then, stir the ingredients together using a spoon until you have a gritty gingerbread cookie body scrub to use in the shower or bath to help exfoliate and moisturize your skin naturally.
Using the Scrub
The way I like to use the scrub is by getting into my shower or a bath and scooping up some of the body scrub into my hands and scrubbing it all over my body from head to toe. After I am done exfoliating my skin, I rinse off with warm water, towel dry my body and apply my favorite holiday body lotion or cream to help moisturize and protect my skin.
End Notes
I hope those of you who try making and using my homemade gingerbread cookie body scrub have fun making and as well as using it. I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
