Simple Tomato Sauce for Pasta

Ingredients

30 tomatoes of any kind: usually use a combination of beef steak tomatoes, plum tomatoes and cherry tomatoes.
Whole onion finely chopped up
5 garlic cloves minced up or get a jar of finely minced garlic and add five teaspoons, or more if you would like a more garlic tasting sauce
1 tablespoon of basil either freshly chopped, or dried
1 tablespoon of parsley either finely chopped, or dried
1 tablespoon of salt: add more if you feel your sauce needs it
1 tablespoon of pepper: add more if you feel your sauce needs it
1 teaspoon on lemon juice
2 to 3 Tablespoons of olive oil
2 to 3 tablespoons of butter
1 tablespoon of sugar

Directions

All you do is, chop all the veggies and herbs up and toss them into a really big saucepan or crock pot along with the oil, butter, sugar, salt and lemon juice.

Allow the ingredients to cook down for about three to four hours on medium heat. During this time, you will want to stir the mixture in the pan occasionally so all the ingredients combine together well and do not stick to your crock pot or saucepan.

You will also want to see if you need to turn down your heat from medium to low because you don't want to cook your sauce to fast otherwise the ingredients will not have time to mellow together making your tomato sauce more flavorful.

After you have slowly cooked down all your ingredients, you should see a huge difference in the way the ingredients look such as:

* There should be much less water in the saucepan.
* The ingredients will look slightly chucked and combined together.
* The sauce will appear thicker in texture.

Once you feel the ingredients looks like tomato sauce you can remove it from the heat and let the sauce cool for an hour or two, After, place the sauce into jars or serve it up over some fresh hot pasta for dinner.
