The factory is located on Route 7 in Shelburne, Vermont. It is open seven days a week and is reasonably affordable to take a tour and build your own teddy bear.
When you first enter the Teddy Bear Factory you will notice a front desk where you purchase the tickets for the tour. However, the tickets are yellow button pins you put onto your shirt. Once you have your yellow buttons, you will stand in a waiting area where there are tons of different teddy bears to look at in all sizes, shapes and colors with their own little personalities to them.
Then, when it's time to tour the factory huge red doors will open and a tour guide will come out and take you through the factory for some fun. Some of the spots in the factory you will see are:
- The Teddy Bear Hospital for damaged bears that need repairing.
- The Fabric Stations where you will receive a fuzzy piece of fabric that is cut into a shape of a bear.
- The build your own bear station to build your own teddy bears.
Average Cost of Making a Teddy Bear
If you want to make your own bear it cost around fifty dollars to do because you have to choose:
- The bear you wish to create
- Make a wish and add a heart
- Stitch the bear up so the stuffing stays inside of it
- Find clothes for the teddy bear
- Create a birth certificate for it
- Pack it away in a protective traveling box
Oh, and the funny rule there is your not allowed to leave with a bear who is wearing nothing. So, if you think you can skip steps, guess again! However, skipping steps would not be fun. The point of going to the factory is having lots of fun.
End Notes
At the end of the tour and teddy bear building, go outside and take photos with the teddy bear statues. It's so much fun and helps you take memorable pictures so you can always remember your awesome day at the factory.
