Christmas made Simple

This year we didn't want Christmas to be stressful or expensive. We thought going simple would be best. Sure enough, it has been one of the most pleasurable holiday seasons.

This year we cut a tiny little Charlie Brown tree from the backyard and uses a mason jar as the tree stand. After, we added a simple strand of Christmas lights   that we had left over from last year. Then we handmade ornaments using left over walnuts from Thanksgiving. So far, the tree has been one of the best ones yet.

For wrapping paper I used brown paper bags from the grocery store and left over wrapping paper from last year. The present still came out beautifully and looked elegant under the tree.

We have even planned to keep dinner simple with a honey roasted ham, mashed potatoes and some steamed and roasted vegetables that we already have on hand.

I must say keeping Christmas simple this year was the way to go. I think we will do this every year from here on out.
