Healing Balm for Wounds

When we get insect bites and stings, cuts and scrapes, and blisters and burns we tend to go get the first aid cream. However, there is a natural healing herbal balm you can make to place on  the infected area instead to provide relief and healing.

Ingredients Needed to Make the Balm

The ingredients you will need to make the natural healing herbal balm are 4 tablespoons of melted beeswax, 10 drops of tea tree oil, 1 teaspoon of aloe vera, ¼ teaspoon each of ground Echinacea, goldenseal, and chamomile dried flowers, ½ teaspoon of honey, and 1 teaspoon of vitamin E.

How do the ingredients help?

The ingredients in the balm help because they relieve inflammation, pain, stinging, redness, burning sensations and help prevent infection while protecting and healing the infected area. You can find these ingredients in your local herbal store. They can be pricey, but they are well worth buying and having on hand.

Creating the Balm

The way you will make the natural healing herbal balm is by placing the melted beeswax, tea tree oil, aloe vera, ground Echinacea, goldenseal, chamomile, honey, and vitamin E oil into a small bowl. After, you will combined the ingredients together until you get a thick liquid yellow colored herbal balm with little brown specks throughout. Then, you will pour the mixture into a sterilized container with a lid and place it into the refrigerator for 10-minutes or until it become solid. Once the mixture is in solid form you will have a homemade healing herbal balm to use on insect bites, stings, cuts, scrapes, blisters and burns.

Using the Balm

The way you would use the natural healing herbal balm is by first cleansing the infected area with a gentle saline solution. After, you will take a cotton swab and dip it into the healing herbal balm and apply the balm to the infected area until it is covered in a thick even layer. Next, you will allow the herbal balm to melt right into the infected area so it can begin protecting and healing the infected area right up. You can apply the herbal salve as often as needed to help heal the area and to relieve any discomforting sensation.

End Notes

So, the next time you get an insect bite or sting, cut or scrape, or a blister or burn don't run to the first aid cream. Go get your homemade healing herbal balm and apply it to the infected area for protection and fast healing. I wish you all the best of luck with healing up fast.
