Marinara Meatballs

There are so many different meatball recipes, but one I enjoy making the most is the marinara meatballs sprinkled with mozzarella cheese. They do take a bit of time to make, but once they are made you can use them with pasta or toss them into a sub to make an Italian meatball sub that will make that tummy of yours fully and happy.

Step One: Making the Meatballs

Ingredients for the Meatballs

1 Pound of Ground Hamburger
(You may use turkey burger instead to create a healthy dish, but double up on the bread and skip the milk part in this recipe.)
1 Slice of White Bread Crumbled Up
1 Egg
1 Tablespoon of Dried Parsley Flakes
1 Teaspoon each of Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, Dried Oregano and Dried Basil
¼ Teaspoon each of Black Pepper, Sea Salt and Dried Rosemary
Tablespoon of Milk

Instructions: Combine all the ingredients together with your hands or a mixing machine in a large mixing bowl until you get meatball dough. Then, make up the meatballs and place them in a deep well greased buttered casserole dish. After, place aluminum foil on top of the casserole dish, poke small holes into the foil and place the meatballs in a 350-degree oven for 30-minutes. Then, remove the meatballs from the oven and toss them into a crock-pot or large pot on top of your stove.

Step Two: Making the Marinara Sauce

Ingredients for Marinara Sauce

1 Can of Tomato Sauce
1 Can of Diced Tomatoes
1 Teaspoon Each of Sugar, Parsley, Basil, Oregano, Garlic Powder and Onion Powder
¼ Teaspoons Each of Black Pepper and Rosemary
Tablespoon of Olive Oil or Butter

Instructions: Place all the ingredients into the large pot you placed your meatballs into and combine the ingredients together well so the meatballs are coated in all the yummy flavors. Next, turn place the pot of sauced covered meatballs onto the stove burner and turn the burner on low heat. Let the meatballs and sauce heat up and mellow together for about 20 to 30-minutes before serving them up the way you desire. If your doing your meatballs in the crock-pot just turn the pot on low heat and let the meatballs and sauce slowly heat up for about an hour before serving them up.

Oh yeah! In addition, do not forget to sprinkle some mozzarella cheese on top of the marinara meatballs once they are finished to make them extra scrumptious. You may use grated Parmesan cheese too.
